1. Wash fish and cut in to medium sized chunks.
2. Heat oil in a pan and fry sliced onion to golden brown color. Remove 1/4th of fried onion and keep aside.
3. Add bay leaves, cardamom, cinnamon and clove.
4. Add onion paste and ginger paste and fry.
5. Pour beaten curd and seasonings. Fry for a few minutes.
6. Add fish and 1 cup water. Cover and cook on slow flame till fish is fully cooked.
7. Remove from fire and sprinkle fried onion (the oneyou kept aside earlier)
8. Serve with boiled rice.
Note: As I mention in other recipes with yoghurt, please use fresh yoghurt. Sour overdone yoghurt will make the dish taste sour and bitter. If required mix the youghurt with some milk or cream to reduce the sourness.
